A History of Hospitality: Welcome to the Johnson House Bakery & Tea Room

The James M. Johnson House in Farmington, built in 1891, has been known as a place of hospitality for more than 100 years. Now that legacy continues as the Johnson House Bakery & Tea Room. Laura Mathis, affectionately known as Mrs. Laura, commemorated her grand opening on Friday, January 20th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Davie County Chamber of Commerce. Chick-fil-A Breaks Ground in Bermuda Run

It’s official. Bus Safety Innovator Moves to Mocksville

After two years of searching, bus safety innovator Bus Safety Solutions, which manufactures Extended Stop Arms for school buses, has found a new home at 133 Avgol Drive in Mocksville. Kaplan Early Learning Company to Open Warehouse in Mocksville

Kaplan Early Learning Company, an international provider of preschool products that enhance learning for children ages birth to age 8, has chosen Mocksville to expand the warehousing capacity for one of its affiliates, Guidecraft.  Guidecraft, which designs, manufactures, and sells educational toys and creative furniture, will move its products to Mocksville from its previous warehouse space in New Jersey. Externships Connecting Teachers with Industry for Workforce Development

The more you know, the more you can teach. Nine Davie County Schools educators recently became students as they toured area companies to gain a deeper understanding of the skills needed by employers that will help their students find meaningful careers and help the local industry to grow.
