Exploring Real-World Connections: Teachers Embark on Externships to Bridge Education and Industry

Knowledge is power, especially in education. This summer, eight dedicated educators from Davie County Schools assumed the roles of students themselves, embarking on an enlightening journey through local businesses. Their mission? To deepen their understanding of the skills demanded by employers to better equip their students for meaningful careers, contributing to the growth of the local industry. All-American City Award Application Highlights What Makes Davie County Special

Everyone who lives in Davie County knows what a special place it is. Soon other communities around the country will know it as well. Last month, the National Civic League selected Davie County as a finalist for this year’s All-America City Award. We will now compete against 19 other communities in Denver, Colorado, June 9-11, 2023. Smart Start of Davie County is excited to announce that it is in the running with eight other local nonprofit organizations to win a $10,000 award in Triad Kids Dental’s Caring4Community Awards. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt Visits Davie County High School

Davie County Schools welcomed State Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt to Davie County High School last week to talk with students and teachers, observe the exciting Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, and experience firsthand all that the school has to offer. Truitt, who took office in January 2021, has toured dozens of schools across the state as she focuses on improving the state’s public schools, expanding innovation, and creating new opportunities for students to learn, grow, and successfully transition into the post-secondary plans of their choice.
