A Grand Celebration of Arts Education in Davie County This Saturday!

Over 230 students from across the entire Davie County Schools system will be presenting their talents at a grand celebration of Arts Education this weekend. Davie County Schools Honored by College Board for Significant Gains in Student Achievement

Davie County Schools have received national recognition for achievement in the Advanced Placement Program which enables high school students to earn college credit. Between 2008 and 2010, participation in the Advanced Placement program grew by 28% in Davie County. As a result, the College Board has named Davie County Schools to the AP Achievement List for significant gains in Advanced Placement access and student performance! “Annie” by The Brock Players This Weekend!

Le Bleu & Food Lion Combat Disabilities with Easter Seals

Le Bleu and Food Lion have teamed up for the second straight year to donate a percentage of sales to support Easter Seals. Le Bleu’s Ultra Pure Water displays an Easter Seal tag on the Food Lion shelves, stating that each purchase includes Le Bleu donations through Food Lion’s “Shop&Care”  program. The despair leaks through the statistics. Parents of disabled adult children report that only 11% of their adult children are employed full time. Only 34% are able to manage their finances. The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament begins today when Virginia and Miami, the 8 and 9 seeds tip-off at 12:00 PM.  12th seeded Wake Forest tips-off against 5th seeded Boston College at 2:00 PM while 10th seeded NC State tips-off against 7th seeded Maryland at 7:00 PM Tonight.
