The 2011 Mocksville-Davie American Legion Baseball Team Enters the Playoffs with Home Field Advantage

2011 Playoffs Begin at Home on Friday, July 8th at 7 PM The 2011 Mocksville-Davie American Legion Baseball Team, sponsored by Coolemee American Legion Post 54 and the Mocksville-Davie Youth Baseball Association are poised to continue their winning ways during the Area III Playoffs.  The playoff format has been changed to a double elimination tournament for 2011. Independence Day in Mocksville ~ Free Events for the Entire Family!

Classic Cars Cruise-In Visit the beautiful and historic square in downtown Mocksville this evening for a classic car “Cruise-In” presented by the Piedmont Classic C.A.R.S. Club. The cruise-in draws participants from the surrounding areas stretching from the Virginia border to the Sandhills ~ West from Wilkes County and East to Alamance and Wake Counties.   If the weather is kind, the cruise-in will draw as many as 250 cars. Development Plans Finalized ~ Hundreds of New Jobs Coming to Davie County!

The Town of Bermuda Run has approved plans for Wake Forest Baptist Health to develop the 88-acre Davie Campus at Hwy 801 and Interstate 40. Development Plan Includes Loop Road and Amenities The Town Council approved a “development agreement,” defining a vision for phased development over the next 20 years.  The agreement establishes design standards for a quality development, comprised of permitted uses, roadways, landscaping, setbacks, signage, parking and architectural standards. “The Town believes this agreement will become a model of cooperation for municipal governments and developers coming together to plan for large-scale, quality land use over a period of […]

DCCC Recognized as National Leader in Increasing College Completion!

DCCC, the College of Davidson and Davie Counties, along with 4 other North Carolina community colleges, has been awarded a grant under the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation “Completion by Design” grant program.  The grant will also be shared with Guilford Technical Community College, Central Piedmont Community College, Martin Community College and Wake Technical Community College.
