Incumbent Worker Grant of $25,000 Awarded to Carolina Precision Machining The Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Board has announced that Carolina Precision Machining Inc. has been awarded an Incumbent Worker Training grant of $25,000 to obtain AS9100 training for their workforce. Davie County Students Excel in 2010-11 School Year

Positive Trends Continue On August 4th, the State Board of Education approved the AYP and ABC’s Results for the 2010-11 school year and Davie County Schools continue to see a positive trend in academic achievement. AYP is the evaluation of schools’ “Adequate Yearly Progress” as outlined by the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. NCLB has the goal of every student being proficient in reading and math by the end of 2013-14 school year. Classic Cars “Cruise-In” ~ Tonight in Historic Downtown Mocksville

Visit the beautiful and historic square in downtown Mocksville this evening for a classic car “Cruise-In” presented by the Piedmont Classic C.A.R.S. Club. The cruise-in draws participants from the surrounding areas stretching from the Virginia border to the Sandhills ~ West from Wilkes County and East to Alamance and Wake Counties.
