22nd Annual Davie County Historic Christmas Ornament

This year the historical Davie County Christmas ornament has a new look!  In keeping with this year’s Hometown Christmas theme “Celebration of Trees”, the 22nd historical ornament is a pewter ornament which captures the significance of the oak trees that define the square in Historic Downtown Mocksville as well as our community way of life. The advocacy center of Davie County will host a benefit concert this Friday evening, November 9th from 7 to 9:30 PM at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Family Life Center located at 321 Redland Road, Advance NC. Davie County unemployment rate Drops to 7.5% – lowest in the Piedmont

The Davie County unemployment rate continued its downward creep in September, dropping from 8.1% in August to 7.5% in September 2012.   This is the lowest unemployment rate in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. The 7.5% unemployment rate in Davie County is lower than the North Carolina rate of 8.9% and lower than the United State unemployment rate of 7.9%. Davie County company with corporate offices in NJ organize relief effort for storm-ravaged town

Donations to help families ravaged by Hurricane Sandy will be accepted from companies and individuals across Davie County next week. A 53 foot tractor trailer will be placed in the Gesipa parking lot early next week to collect donations of items listed below from companies and individuals across Davie County. Relief collection begins Tuesday, November 6th through Friday, November 16th.   We have been assured that this timing is sufficient to do a lot of good for folks that will need help for some time to come. Community Chicken Stew This Saturday in Cooleemee

On Saturday, November 3, the Cooleemee Recreation Department will host a Chicken Stew at the Zachary House in Cooleemee.  Walter Ferrell just keeps on cooking – perhaps he needs to open a local restaurant! Hospital Construction Fully Underway in Davie County ~ Construction Jobs Today, Health Care Jobs Tomorrow

The future home of Wake Forest Baptist Health – West Campus, the 88-acre site in the town of Bermuda Run on NC Highway 801 at Interstate 40, has been cleared with the exception of the natural wetlands, which are being protected. There may be 100-150 workers when construction activity is at its peak and Wake Forest Baptist anticipates that 200 permanent health care and related jobs will be created when phase one is open.
