Internship Program Provides Real-World Opportunities for Davie High Students

Four afternoons a week, Davie High senior Angel Fearrington heads to her internship at Hillsdale Real Estate Group, where she’s putting her interests in video editing, graphic design, and photography to work creating marketing videos and graphics for the company’s social media.  As a high school student with no work experience, she thought it was important to gain some before graduating. Ruffin Named Interim County Manager for Davie County

The Davie County Board of Commissioners has appointed former Davie County Manager Mike Ruffin to serve as interim county manager following County Manager David Bone’s resignation last week. He will serve the county for approximately six months while the county seeks a permanent manager. “We are fortunate to have Mike. Mike will be effective in building confidence and stability within the organization, but will also be exceptionally valuable as we diligently search the marketplace for a permanent county manager,” said Commissioner Mark Jones. Need a COVID test? The local COVID-19 testing site at 114 Dr. Slate Drive in Mocksville has extended its hours to 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.  This FREE  testing site is provided by Optum Serve – a contractor for NCDHHS.
