Sugar Valley Airport, located near the very center of Davie County will be hosting a presentation by HondaJet on Saturday, January 14th.  The event is free and open to the public. Does your school club have a service project idea, but lack money to get it started? Are you involved in a church youth group that could use a grant to fund an outreach project? You may be eligible for funding from the S.U.R.F. Board Youth Grantmakers. S.U.R.F. Davie County EDC Provides Development Update to NC Department of Commerce

The Davie County Economic Development Commission met with the North Carolina Department of Commerce at their offices in Raleigh in late November.  The purpose of the meeting was to update the Department of Commerce on development activities in Davie County and to provide details on buildings and sites available for development in the county. Davie County Students Transform Life for School Children in South Africa Village!

In 2009, under the leadership of two Davie County teachers, Cindy Orsillo and Carrie Chapple, students at Pinebrook Elementary School raised more than $11,000 to dig a fresh-water well for a school in Legogote, South Africa, a village that is 8,388 miles away! The students who raised the money now attend North Davie Middle School.  Last month they were visited by the Legogote School Principal, Cynthia Mkabela, who traveled to Davie County to thank students for their life changing gift and to challenge them to be grateful for all the blessings they have in Davie County, North Carolina. Advance Christmas Parade This Saturday, 10 AM

The 2011 Advance, NC Christmas Parade will be held this Saturday, December 10th, beginning at 10:00 AM.  No pre-registration is required, just be at Shady Grove Elementary School before 9:00 AM. Enjoy the Parade and then Warm up with Chicken Stew!
