Manufacturing Job Fair ~ Tuesday, July 30th

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs The Davie Campus of Davidson County Community College has partnered with Northwest Piedmont Workforce Board to host a manufacturing job fair from 9 a.m. to noon on July 30 in the Administration Building, located at 1205 Salisbury Road in Mocksville. The event is open to the public. The job fair will feature manufacturing jobs available from a variety of Davie County employers, including the manufacturing companies Ashley Furniture, Pro Refrigeration, Amarr Garage Doors, Ingersoll Rand, as well as the staffing agencies Debbie’s Staffing and First Choice Personnel. Last Weekend of I-40 Closure ~ Alternative Routes

Interstate 40 closed all weekend at Yadkin River Bridge The North Carolina Department of Transportation will close I-40 Eastbound at Exit 180, NC 801 near Bermuda Run beginning at 8:00pm on Friday, July 26, 2013. This closure will be in place continuously through 6:00am Monday, July 29, 2013 and will consist of preservation and rehabilitation work on the bridge that carries I-40 East over the Yadkin River. During these closures, motorists travelling locally should take Exit 180, NC 801, and turn right. Then turn left onto US-158 and left onto Harper Road back to I-40 Eastbound at Exit 182. Great Bullhole Duck Race This Saturday

Duck Race, Tube Race, Trophies and over $500 in Prizes 1,000 ducks will brave the river this Saturday.  You would have to be crazy to race down a river if you were less than four inches long and weighed only a few ounces or you might find comfort in numbers. Davie Community Foundation 5k Popsicle Run Makes Reader’s Digest “Best in America” Cover Story

  The Davie Community Foundation’s Annual 5K “Popsicle” run is the inspiration for the cover of the July 2013 Reader’s Digest.
