Davie County in the Red Zone for Community Spread

North Carolina Introduces COVID-19 County Alert System:  Governor Cooper and Dr. Mandy Cohen, secretary of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) have announced a new COVID-19 County Alert System to pinpoint counties with the highest levels of viral spread and to offer specific recommendations to bring numbers down. This system will provide information about how each county is faring and will help local leaders make decisions about actions to slow the virus’s spread. Davie County Opens Free Coronavirus Testing Sites

With COVID-19 on the rise in North Carolina, Davie County Health and Human Services (DCHHSS) has announced that two large scale community testing sites will be opening for Coronavirus testing during the last two weeks of November.  OptumServe will provide no-cost drive-thru testing at the Davie County Community Park and Smith Grove Community Center in partnership with NC DHHS and DCHHSS.  No-Cost Testing Begins Monday!  Testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Davie County Community Park, 151 Southwood Drive in Mocksville Monday, November 16th and 23rd; Tuesday, November 17th and 24th; and Wednesday, November 18th  […]

Long Term Water Strategy Will Allow for Maximum Economic Growth

Davie County and the Town of Mocksville are partnering on a long-term water strategy to secure the county’s water supply and to allow for economic growth over the next 20 or more years in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.    Davie County owns and operates the 2.6 mgd (million gallons per day)  Cooleemee Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in southern Davie County with an intake on the South Yadkin River. The Town of Mocksville owns the 3.0 mgd Hugh A. Lagle WTP with an intake on Hunting Creek. Both water treatment facilities are at the end of their useful life.   […]
