Free Event This Saturday – Mocksville Concerts on the Square Series

Mocksville will be rocking as Surry Line kicks off the free Concerts on the Square concert series this Saturday night, June 10th, from 7 pm-10 pm in the quad near Restaurant 101 in downtown Mocksville. Five Free Concerts for 2017 This is the first of five free concerts sponsored by the Town of Mocksville. “Cruise-In” Monday Night in Mocksville!

Visit the beautiful and historic square in downtown Mocksville on Monday evening, June 5th, for  “Cruise-In” presented by the Piedmont C.A.R.S. Association.  Festivities begin at 5:30 and continue until dark. All types of cars ranging from old classics to the cars of tomorrow will be on display.  The cruise-in draws participants from the surrounding areas stretching from the Virginia border to the Sandhills ~ West from Wilkes County and East to Alamance and Wake Counties.  If the weather is kind, the cruise-in will draw as many as 300 cars. Davie County Schools – Give Five, Read Five Book Drive ends This Friday, June 2

Is summer brain drain a reality? Studies show that teachers spend an average of 4-6 weeks re-teaching material that students have lost during the summer, but summer reading can help diminish these loses. Reading just 4-5 books during the summer can prevent a decline in a child’s fall reading scores. To help get reading materials in the hands of its students, Davie County Schools is participating in the NC Department of Instruction’s 5th annual statewide summer reading book drive– NC Reads. Free Sounds on the Square Concert this Saturday in Bermuda Run – Special Occasion Band!

The Town of Bermuda Run will be alive with the sounds of beach music as Special Occasion Band (SOB) kicks off the Sounds on the Square concert series this Saturday night, May 27th, from 7 pm-9 pm at the gazebo near Town Hall in the Kinderton Business Park.
